Overview

DocuScan ("we", "our", "the App") is a document scanner application for Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how the App handles your data.

DocuScan is designed as an offline-first application. Your scanned documents and data stay on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be transparent — DocuScan does not collect:

Personal information (name, email, phone number)
Location data
Usage analytics or tracking data
Advertising identifiers
Contacts, call logs, or messages

Permissions & How We Use Them

The App requests the following device permissions solely for core functionality:

Camera — Used to capture photos of documents for scanning. Images are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to any server.
Storage — Used to save your scanned documents (PDFs and images) to your device's local storage.
Vibration — Used to provide haptic feedback during the scanning process (e.g., when a document is detected).
Internet — Used exclusively for in-app purchase verification through Google Play Billing. No personal data or scanned documents are transmitted over the network.
Billing — Used to process in-app purchases through the Google Play Store. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play; we do not collect or store any payment information.

Data Storage

All scanned documents, images, and application data are stored locally on your device. You have full control over your data and can delete it at any time by:

Deleting individual documents within the App
Clearing the App's data from your device settings
Uninstalling the App

Third-Party Services

DocuScan uses the following third-party service:

Google Play Billing — For processing in-app purchases. Google's privacy policy applies to these transactions. You can review it at policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Children's Privacy

DocuScan does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect personal data from any user, it is safe for use by individuals of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
